We were chatting in the car about a thing called BIOS, which is a component which starts a computer functioning immediately after the power has started to flow. I realised that in 20 years' time such a component will be common knowledge to middle aged mums like me. Knowledge will have moved on so far and fast that something as yet undiscovered will be of a similar mysteriousness/familiarity to someone like me. Hmm. I feel I need to rest and enjoy the silence after such thoughts.
